Everyone loves to battle, so here is the Mirawold Style of Battle.
(Note: When a character reaches 0 HP, they are permanently dead. Therefore, be careful who you battle and try to refrain from completely killing a character. Battles should end in draws or forfeits.
Here we go:
Four Phases
Both fighters have an agility, attack, defense, and burst value.
The battle begins with the primary attack phase. The character with the higher agility attacks first (or if it was an unannounced attack, the first character who chose to attack). The attacker roleplays what they are doing and can use MP to do a special attack. They must also roll the online dice provided. They combine their attack value (inherent abilities included), weapon modifier, MP used, and dice roll. After that attacker posts their actions along with a diceroll, the defender of this phase (the one with the lower agility) then roleplays what they are doing and can use MP to do a special defend. They must also roll the dice.
The defender then modifies their post to include the resolution phase.
During the primary resolution phase, you subtract the total defense value from the total attack value. If the result is negative, the defense was higher than the attack and no damage is done to either fighters. If the result is positive, the attack was higher than the defense and damage is done to the defender (and if the attacker was attempting to use magic on the defender, the spell succeeds). The total of the difference, plus the burst value of the attacker, is subtracted from the defenders HP.
The secondary attack and resolution phase are a repeat of what just happened, but the person with the lower agility is now the attacker and the person with the higher agility is now the defender.
If this was confusing, I'm going to post an example fight.
Additions
- If a character with a lower agility has unexpectedly attacked a character with a higher agility, the character with the lower agility begins the primary attack phase. This only goes for unorganized battles (not an arena match).

Nick the Knight (agi:2, atk:6, def:3, brst:2, MP:10/10, HP:20/20) challenges Mark the Mage (agi:1, atk:2, def:4, brst:6, MP:10/10, HP:20/20) to a battle. Mark accepts.
Primary Attack Phase
Nick (with the higher agility) brandishes his basic sword (+1) in the air and charges at Nick, sword pointed directly in front of him. He uses 4 MP to perform a special Knight piercing attack. He rolls a 5.
Mark sees the man charging at him and takes out his wand of fire (+1) and uses 6 MP to create a force field around himself made of fire. He rolls a 3
Primary Resolution Phase
Nick's total attack (attack value + weapon bonus + MP + dice roll) was worth 16 points. Mark's total defense (defense value + weapon bonus + MP + dice roll) was worth 14 points. The attack was successful, so one of the two (either one, it doesnt matter who) posts the resolution phase, which should state that Nick's burst value of 2 is added to the difference from the attack of 2, for a total of 4. Mark loses 4 HP.
Nick is now at a MP of 6/10 and HP of 20/20
Mark is now at a MP of 4/10 and HP of 16/20
Secondary Attack Phase
Mark, who was slightly pierced by the knights sword, loses his fire shield after the attack was complete. He waves the fire wand (+1) once again, only sends a burning snake charging forward at Nick, using his remaining 4 MP. He rolls a 6.
Nick pulls his sword (+1) from the mage's stomach and tries to block the fire snake from hitting his face, and puts 2 MP into this move. He rolls a 2.
Secondary Resolution Phase
Mark's total attack was worth 13 , and Nick's total defense was worth 8. The attack was successful, and Mark's burst value of 6 is added to the difference of 5. Nick loses a total of 11 HP.
Nick is now at a MP of 4/10 and HP of 9/20
Mark is now at a MP of 0/10 and HP of 16/20
Primary Attack Phase
Nick recovers from having the firesnake singe his face, and lunges forward with all of his might, sword (+1) flying through the air, coming down onto Mark. He uses all 4 MP for this move. He rolls a 5
Mark sees the knight come flying down on him, but has no more magic points and cannot use an Mage powers (once you run out of MP, you cannot use powers that are specifically designed for you class). Instead, he uses his wand (+1) itself to block the attack. He rolls a 3
Primary Resolution Phase
Nick's total attack was 16, and Mark's total defense was 8. The attack succeeds, so a total of (burst+difference) 10 damage is done to Mark.
Nick is now at a MP of 0/10 and HP of 9/20
Mark is now at a MP of 0/10 and HP of 6/20
At this point, Mark (who is scared of dying) forfeits and Nick is declared the winner.
