Alias/Nickname: Sandalio, the Desert of Two Sands

[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Equipment/Armor/Weapons: Of what weapons he has some far, his two main weapons are that of his father's sword that he wields in his right and any other weapon he uses in his left, at the moment consisting of a curved blade. He has his main armor that offers some protection against sword attack when made toward his chest and stomach, as well as some protection for his legs. The only protection offered for his arms are that of tough leather bands, allowing him to move his arms without being hindered like he would with other armor.
Skills/Abilities: Over his entire life since birth, he's been training in the use of swords and is quite skilled in using different types. When he came to become a Warrior in the Warriors Guild, he's had an interest in acrobat combat and so, trained himself accordingly in it to where he can make great leaps and movements a normal person could not. He's also trained accordingly within the guild with swordsmanship and the three powers of the guild.
Personality: Cyrus isn't really a very open person when it comes to his past. He'll talk about most other things like the current situations of the world, combat, etc. Though he can be talkative, he isn't one to trust others, nor to second hand information he hears. He questions everything, even that of people and their motives, and that of situations, feeling that most events have something happening behind it. When an attack happens on one place, he always questions why it happened. When an assassination happens, he wonders why it happens. Why, why and more whys. His questions never stop, his searching for answers never end and at times, he's wondered what motivates the world to act as it does. Sometimes, it's almost like he's some philosopher. In a way, he is. He has a very intelligent mind, is always moving about and doing things and can be seen many times training with just himself or others. Though he might not trust, when it comes to battling, he sometimes trusts his enemies and rivals more than he does his friends. He's also very honorable, believing that one most always face your opponent. And if they are unarmed, you offer them a sword.
Goals/Aspirations: Cyrus wants order and peace in the world that his son will live in, hoping that he doesn't become evil and cold like Cyrus once was.
History: The life of Cyrus Hakim was not what you would call a good life. He was born into the family of the small Hakim clan, a nomad clan that traveled in the Burning Desert of Mordoc. There were many different families within the clan, though all bore the same last name and were only able to tell the difference between each family by what records were kept within the nomad clan or by merely memory itself. It was a harsh life, traveling from place to place to find water and food and to trade with the local small villages of the Desert, nomad tribes and clans. Supplies were not easy to come by and when they did come, they did not last long. The fact that the rumor of Necromancers are within the Desert did not help raise their hopes of seeing another day. They traveled and survived, however, and after a while of living, it wasn't so bad. It was just a way of life. Cyrus adjusted to this life like everyone else in the clan, not complaining, not saying anything, just doing his share of the work needed to be done and hoping to see another day.
For the Hakim clan, they were some what lucky for food and water was not always a problem for them due to the many oasis that can be found on the route they went. At each oasis would be a tribe and clan almost each time, allowing them to trade, get food and fill their bottles with water. Rarely was there ever one that wasn't there but when there was, it made the condition of the clan much harder if they didn't have enough supplies to get to the next oasis. Sometimes, they would have to stay and wait until another clan came by. The Hakim clan was rather well known among the tribes and clans of the desert for their skills in swords. It was a needed skill for anyone in order to hunt for any wild animals, and more often than not, defend themselves against murders and animals that meant them harm. Cyrus became quite skilled for his age during the time and was rarely one to be lazy when it came to work.
Life might have been harsh but Cyrus liked it very much, unable to imagine him doing anything else at the time. That is until a band of necromancers happened to arrive. Cyrus was fourteen at the time when they came to the oasis his clan was stationed at. It seemed that there were ten in total, fairly weak when it came to actual work but their magic was better than that of the clan's. A lot better. It appeared that they were exiled Sorcerers and until now, the nomads had little or no dealings with that of the Guild that was rumored to be in the desert, or any exiles from it. They had demanded food and water but the clan refused them. The clan had a dislike toward that of Sorcerers while Cyrus had no opinion on them at all. And seeing as they had the larger numbers than that of the Sorcerers, it would seem that even if fighting broke out, the clan would win. The Sorcerers weren't happy about being refused and it appeared like nothing would happen but arguments.
That is until that very night when the Sorcerers attacked while everyone was sleeping. The first to signal the battle were loud explosions of fire in the middle of the camp. The first few men and women died in the explosion and most of the supplies were lost in the fire. Cyrus woke from the sound of the explosion but thought it little more than something in his dream at first. That is, until the sound of screaming hit the air like a knife. Surprised, curious and afraid, he grabbed his wooden sword and ran out of his tent to check it out. He found the Sorcerers battling men of his family, all of them armed with some kind of weapon but it seemed that the Sorcerers were battling with magic. Two of the Sorcerers appeared dead as they lay still on the ground but more Hakim clan members were dead compared to that of the Sorcerers, a lot more. For the first time in a long while, Cyrus was afraid, afraid that he would die here if he didn't run away from this battle and seek shelter. Turning to run from the site, he didn't get far before a passing spell from a Sorcerer hit the ground next to Cyrus, knocking him off his feet and sending him flying through the air. He hit the ground hard and was barely awake, pain going through most of his body but it was pure luck that he didn't break any bones. Looking around weakly, he saw that the Sorcerers were still fighting his clan members and before long, blacked out.
He didn't know for sure at the time how long he had been out but when he woke up, he found himself covered in comfortable white sheets, a soft bed under him as he lay there. He appeared to be in a wooden house he had never seen before and from the angle in which the sunlight came in through the window next to his bed, it seemed to be past noon. Frankly, however, he was surprised by it all, having never seen a wooden house before, much less inside one. He tried to get up or move some part of his body besides his head but found that his muscles ached, making it very hard to more without much pain. Lying there in the bed, he thought about what happened and suddenly grew angry because of what the Sorcerers had done. Without much to do at the moment but lay in bed, he waited until two men walked into the room, a human and a drawf. Almost at once, they were happy to see him awake and okay. Introducing themselves, Cyrus found out that they were Warriors in the Warriors Guild, the drawf being Raki and John being the human.
They explained that they had heard a lot of fighting a distance away but by the time they got there, it was over. They found Cyrus after a few hours of putting out fires and searching for bodies and brought him with them. However, they couldn't find anyone else alive as there was nothing but bodies everywhere and wasn't sure if any happened to escape. They didn't know what had happened but were deeply worried about it. Cyrus explained with spite that it was the Sorcerers' doing for why everyone was killed. Cyrus asked if any of the Sorcerers were dead and they replied that after looking through what bodies were there, there didn't appear to be any bodies of Sorcerers. More anger rose in Cyrus as he wanted revenge toward the Sorcerers who did this but did not tell the two men so. They explained that Cyrus had been asleep for two days now and that he was currently in Minas Rithes. Cyrus had no clue where that was for sure but neither did he know much about the Warriors Guild. He had heard of the city and guild but never has he been out of the Desert until now. It took hours to explain everything about where this was and the world he was in and by the time they were finished, it was near dusk.
Afterward, Cyrus started to get interested about this guild, considering his own practice with swords within his clan. Cyrus wanted to learn more about it and the two men offered to help him get in if he could. They also offered them this house to rest in until he could get a place of his own, making Cyrus suddenly happy and thankful. As the weeks passed by, he was able to fully recover and started training again with swordsmanship with the help of John and Raki. From what he learned the day he got here, he had learned more than he could about the world just from his clan in the desert. Before training had begun, Raki and John showed them what they were able to get after the attack before the desert sand storms covered them up. Luckily, they were able to get the sword of Cyrus's father. However, this only suggested to the fact that his father might be dead, not helping Cyrus's emotional condition about the event. There was one thing though that Cyrus couldn't figure out about the entire thing.
Why were there no bodies of the Sorcerers around? Not a single one was found and the more he thought about it, the more it didn't make sense. From what Raki and John see of it, they must not have been your average Sorcerers and so, left the conversation at that until they happened to learn more. Cyrus was finally able to get into the Guild and over the next few years, became a Guildsman by that age of twenty-one, becoming a serious addition to the Guild and working his share of the work needed to be done as best as he could, just like he was as a child in his clan. During this time, he got new armor, a few more weapons and kept his father's sword, using it wherever he went. After becoming a Guildsman, he was finally able to track done enough information to locate where a few of the Sorcerers were. It seemed that all of them were still alive and in different parts of the world. After he became a Guildsman, Cyrus went off to find his clan's killers, followed by Raki, John, and two of their friends, Brom, a Drow Elf and Will, an Elf. While Raki and John weren't much to see together, Brom and Will were due to their races. Often, they argued but somehow in the end, they got along. How though was a mystery in itself. All four helped Cyrus along with his search for the Sorcerers and were very helpful. Cyrus spent about half a year trying to catch-up to two of them. After finding them, he was able to kill them with the help of his friends and slowly, was having the revenge he had always wanted.
During his time as a part of the Warriors Guild, he had grown cold and maybe slightly evil from his need for revenge toward the Sorcerers. He would have stayed that way even today if it wasn't for one woman. An elf by the name of Naitae. Shortly after killing the two Sorcerers, Cyrus was severely wounded from the battle. They all were able to get to the next town luckily before Cyrus got any worse but there was a problem. At the entrance of the town stood one of the Sorcerers with five men armed with swords. Their intention was to kill Cyrus and everyone he is with when they arrive, and arrive they did. Will was the first to notice the Sorcerer and warned everyone else, shooting off arrows in the direction of the Sorcerer. The arrows mattered little though for they were blown away. Brom, Raki and John went on ahead to fight them and Will stayed with Cyrus. The battle did not go well though. The armed men were killed but the Sorcerer proved to be far more powerful than the two Sorcerers they had killed before hand. He almost killed Raki but six arrows flew toward the Sorcerer out from the distance, hitting him and severely wounding him in the arms and chest.
The arrows were the work of Naitae and her friend, Alvin, a male Elf. Seeing as how they had gotten there just in time, they continued to attack and the Sorcerer, already wounded and drained of energy, was soon killed by the coming arrows. Soon afterward, Cyrus was under the care of the inn keepers and hopefully would be okay soon. Naitae and Alvin were most worried about his condition like the rest, Naitae more than Alvin it seemed because she kept on checking with the healer as to how he was doing every hour. The healer wasn't very happy about being asked every hour but went along with it anyway. With Cyrus being taken care of, Naitae and Alvin explained to everyone else that they had been on a small mission to get herbs for a friend and were on their way back when they came across them fighting the Sorcerer. They saw it fitting to help them considering the situation they were in and so, went into the fighting like they did. Will, Brom, Raki and John soon explained afterward their own situation where they are trying to find the Sorcerers who destroyed Cyrus's clan.
This explanation took up a few hours and before long, was well into the night before all of them went to bed for the night. The next morning, Naitae was the first to wake up and check on Cyrus and the healer. The healer said that the wounds Cyrus got were great but he would be alright now considering how quickly they got here. His wounds were not completely healed though and the healer did all she could do so for the next while, Cyrus would not be able to do much battling. Once everyone was awake and the news told around, everyone was relieved about Cyrus's condition but because of that, his wounds would have to naturally heal for now. Cyrus meet with Naitae and Alvin that same day and after introducin themselves, explanations of why they were there were given to Cyrus and he was glad that they had helped them at that moment. Who knows what would have happened then. Naitae and Alvin, still having a mission to complete for a friend, left rather reluctantly, or at least Naitae left reluctantly.
