Retuke: Success
The sail came up slowly but surely. Retuke was able to tie the sail down, and then climb towards the rigging again. Taj did the same, now that the sail was ready. Sailors had just completed similar tasks on the second mast, and the ship was moving slightly less dangerously. People still could be seen running across the deck far below, and the ship still rocked, but it was not as bad as it was before. Taj reached the rigging first, with Retuke coming right behind him. They both had to climb down. After that, with luck, they wouldn't be needed to help battle the storm any longer.
Taj and Retuke: Roll an agility check to descend the rigging. Required Roll: 6

Together Retuke & Taj tied the foresail, The other sails were also succesfully tied, now they just had to wait out the storm..
Taj looked to the sky, thick clouds had rolled in & he couldn't see very far.. He was uncertain on how long the storm would last..
"Can you tell how long the storm will hold?" Taj shouted to Retuke as he began the climb down the rigging..

Retuke slowly followed him down. "It looks like the storm's abating. I don't know for sure, but it shouldn't be too much longer," he called down. Retuke found going down was slightly easier than going up, and he didn't know why. It seemed like it would be harder going down. Perhaps it was because with every step, you were closer to the ground. Well, the ship's deck.

Taj: 8 Success Retuke: 9 Success
The two friends reached the deck in safety. Retuke was right; the storm was almost over. Taj and Retuke were not longer needed to help with the ship. H'enkal had his most experienced sailors to the rest of the work. Within two hours, the storm was gone. It was still cloudy, but the sea had calmed, and they were able to continue on their journey.
The next day, Taj and Retuke were called into the Captain's quarters, along with several other of the higher-ranking sailors...

Taj stood in the Captain's Quarters arms crossed in front of him.. He scatched his thick hair as he thought why he & Retuke had been called here amongst the high ranking officials.. Taj hoped it wasn't for the reason he thought it to be.. But the look on every one's face seemed to point more towards his beliefs..
If Pirates had been sighted mornings waters then Retuke & Taj would have been called for advice on such tidings..
Taj closed his eye's and memories of long ago battles rushed through his mind.. No less than a year or two ago Taj had spent time on a warship in distant sea's.. He had seen much carnage, The tattoo on his back of a great ship was the one he served on, 'The Electric Ladyland'.. It was nitorious for its great victories, & it's great fall. He could almost smell the salt air mixed with the smell of blood and smoke, the heat of raging fire's mixed with the clodness of seaspray..
Voices suddenly brang him back to reality.

Retuke hoped to sleep in, but, as expected, he was woken early the next day. Shortly after cooking a passable breakfast for the crew, Retuke was called to the Captain's cabin. Why? He didn't know. As he came up to H'enkal's cabin, he saw Taj entering also. Inside he could see several other officers.
What's going on? the Mage thought as he entered the room. He felt very uncomfortable without his staff. He decided it would be wiser to not carry it around the whole time while he was on the ship, but he still missed its presence.
He exchanged glances with Taj, then took his place in front of the seated captain.

The captain looked at the four men who stood before him. He rose without warning and took two long strides over to the left wall where a map was pinned. "As my first and second mates already know, during the storm the hull was breached. No one's quite sure what caused it, but we've taken in a considerable amount of water. The standing theory was that it was piece of a ship's hull." He lifted his hand to stop any questions that were about to be asked, then continued, "We are just outside of pirate waters. The pirate dock city of Tarv Qwin is nestled up at the foot of the BrokenPeak mountains, and right now it's just SouthEast of us." He was now motioning to the map, showing where the pirate town was, and then their own location.
"Now," he said, turning back to his audience. "The repairs we've managed to do are weak and will not last. We could keep the pumps going night and day for the rest of our voyage, but I'd rather not do that. What I propose," he said, taking a step forwards, "is that we venture into pirate waters, and find an island to anchor at long enough to repair the ship and resupply ourselves."
He looked at Taj and Retuke. "And the only reason I'm bothering to tell you this is because you're my passengers and I want to inform you that the voyage will be delayed some days." ..... "We shouldn't be venturing too far into pirate waters, and it's doubtful we'll encounter any rogue ships. I think it's safe enough."

Taj looked at the Captain regarding the situation, the damage done must have been savere to risk entering pirate waters..
"Captain with all due respect may I propose an idea?..
"If we are going to enter these waters I suggest we play theatre for at least that will give other captains a second thought about attacking us"
Taj didn't care if he was out of line.. He had been in a bad mood lately.. The storm and being back on the ocean was bringing up bad memeroies.. Still he wouldn't let fear run his life..

Retuke shifted uncomfortable on his feet as H'enkal explained the situation. He glanced at Taj as he began to speak. Play theatre? Retuke repeated in his mind. Meaning dress up? Play the pirate? He looked to H'enkal for his reply to Taj's idea. Personally, Retuke didn't like the idea of playing a pirate, but he disliked even more the idea of having to encounter pirates, which, as much as H'enkal said otherwise, Retuke believed to be too risky.

H'enkal folded his hands behind his back as he looked at the man before him. "You wish me to put up a pirate flag, change costumes, and act as if I am a barbaric savage?" the Captain raised a bushy eyebrow as he looked at Taj. The two other sailors looked as if they were preparing for a tirade from their captain as the silence lengthened. Finally, H'enkal threw back his head and roared with laughter. He turned and sat down heavily in his chair. "I don't suppose it would be all that hard to make us look like a pirate ship. My men are about as dirty as any," he said, still laughing. The two sailors looked offended.
"Very well," H'enkal said in a more serious tone. "Since we're going to repair our ship in pirate waters, we may as well prepare for problems. See to it!" he shouted to the sailors, who quickly left. "Well then, it looks like you came in handy after all," the captain said, motioning to Taj. "Well, don't just stand there gawking! Get out of my cabin!" With that, H'enkal looked down at the papers before him, clearly showing they were dismissed.

Taj walked out of the H'enkal's cabin.. The morning sun was shining brightly and the young day's sky was a clear canvas..
Already sailors were hurrying around with new orders..
Taj looked at Retuke and managed a smile..
"Haha seems our trip has become delayed friend.. I wonder if anything runs smoothly on these lands.."
He walked over to the side of the ship and lent against the railing..

Retuke joined his friend by the rail. "Generally, I guess I would expect things to go awry. At least when you're not in ordinary places." He looked out over the sea. After a brief silence, Retuke said, "That was a good idea of yours, back in the captain's cabin. Perhaps it'll save us some trouble. I don't agree with H'enkal on the subject of "safety" in pirate waters."

"Mmm agreed, espcially seeing as were currently aboard what it is pirate's mainly fish for.." Taj felt the sun against his back, as much as it brang back nightmares he did miss the sea..
"There was once a time when I wouldn't hesitate to jump ship, it isn't unheard of a sailor stepping over to the other side for want of riches & such.. & when it comes down to it one ship is just the same as the other.. But lately iv'e seemed to have turned into a man with honer.. Haha I never thought i'd here myself say that.. You seem to be a good man Retuke, Whats say we grab somthing to eat hey? You can tell me bout your Mage's Guild. Im starving"
To emphesize the fact he rubbed his belly and grinned as he stood up straight and eyed of the stairs to the hull of the ship..

Retuke nodded in apprehensive agreement. Taj was right. They carried exactly what pirates wanted, these days.

A slow smile played over Retuke's face. "It's a good thing to be a man of honor." He looked over at his friend. "I believe you're destined for great things, Taj," he said with just a hint of sarcasm, though he believed what he said.
"You seem to be a good man Retuke, Whats say we grab somthing to eat hey? You can tell me bout your Mage's Guild. Im starving"
Retuke nodded. "Alright. Luckily," he said, starting to walk with Taj towards the center of the deck where the entrance to the lower deck was. "I'm the cook, and I shall treat us to the passengers' special!" They went down below deck and made their way towards the kitchen. Retuke was already surprised at how the crew looked different. A sailor that seemed very proper just an hour ago, now looked like a flea-ridden pirate, broadcasting a tattoo on his shoulder for all to see. Retuke entered the kitchen and began to make some stew. He never really had been a good cook before, but he was learning. Collecting his staff from it's place in the corner of the room, he cast a quick spell which started the water to boil. That done, all the stew required was a few minutes to cook.
He sat down opposite Taj. "Now then. You wished to know about the Mage Guild?"

Sitting down at the long table that filled the centre of the crew's quarters where the kitchen was positioned at one end he had his elbows on the table and his hand was playing with the short beard that had grown on him whilst being out at sea..
"Yes, I want to know how the Mage's guild stands in the political wheel.. I know that they have much influence but they never seem to get involved in things.. Do you think if asked they would help fight a war for the people of Lebonwaith?"
Taj saw a sailor walk over to the large pot of stew on the fireoven & give it a big sniff walking quickly away with a satisfied grin on his face he went back to his bunk..
