Sword Hihtu'kil rode down the lonely dirt road with two other apprentice knights at his side. Tarsé and Grunt were sent on this mission as well as Sword. The Table of Elders had assigned the three apprentices a mission. Lately, a small group of bandits had started raiding villages on the outskirts of Lebonwaith, thinking that the Warrior Guild was too weak to respond. The elders wished to show them otherwise. So the three of them were sent to go capture the brigand leader back alive. The Table of Elders would handle it from there.
They had been riding for three days now, and had made excellent progress. They were nearing the village where the latest raid had come from. Hopefully they would find some clues as to the brigands' whereabouts from there.
The three knights rode into the village side-by-side and dismounted. [Green]"Alright, split up and see what you can find. I'll check with the inhabitants,"[/green] Tarsé said, heading in the direction of the blacksmith. [orange]"I'll try to find out what was stolen. That may give us something to work off of,"[/orange] Grunt added, heading towards the stables.
The left Sword. Perhaps he could find out in what direction the attack had come from, and where they left? And while he was at it, he may be able to pick up a drink. There was a nice looking tavern on the street corner over there, after all...

Sword looked at the tavern and decided to enter it when Tarsé and Grunt were beside him. He made his way to each entrance to look for blood or footprints to suggest which way they came from. He check every entrance for ten minutes each. He even checked the makeshift walls to see any sign of damage.
Seeing nothing he started to talk to people he would meet on the streets. He was hoping to find someone that could point out a general direction. Even a description of the men would be nice now Sword thought as he saw very few people were outside.

An old man began to approach Sword from the other edge of the street. He looked tired and worried, but a spark of hope lit his eyes. "Are you a Warrior from Minas Rithes?" he asked hopefully.

"Yes sir. What do you wish to tell me?" Sword asked as he looked down at the man. He hoped that he would have seen something. "My name is Sword Hihtu'kil," Sword said introducing himself. He wanted the villagers to know the names of the three men that saved them.

The old man sighed in relief. "Thank goodness. The bandits raided us five days ago. We sent out a rider to Minas Rithes to call for help. Ever since the attack, we've been on edge; worried they may come back." He started walking with Sword down the street. "I am Jord. I make candles in a shop down there," he said pointing down a street. "Now that you're here though, everything will be okay..."

"Can you tell me where they came from?" Sword asked as he enter the man's shop. There were candles everywhere. "Intresting store doesn't look like its been robbed," Sword said as he looked around at the cleanliness of it.
He knew that the time had expired and that Tarsé and Grunt were probably waiting by where they entered. 'Hopefully they won't worry' Sword thought as he looked out the window. He turned back to the old man waiting for any clue from him.

"Aye, that I can," the man said. He looked around sadly at his shop. "It was nicer a week ago. I've done what I can to fix it up, but it was a mess. The bandits knocked everything down and broke quite a few things. Though they weren't after candles, so they didn't really take any of my things." He sighed and sat down.
"But you asked about where they came from. I was on the edge of the village when they came. There were, hmm, about ten, fifteen of them? They came from the west edge of the village, and left the exact same way, except with their saddle-bags full of our valuables." The man seemed pleased to be able to give the information to Sword.

'Ten or Fiffteen!' Sword thought his mouth slightly open. "Thank you for your help sir," Sword said as he made his way back to where they entered.
"So what did you find?" Tarsé asked as he saw Sword approaching.
"The bandits entered the west edge of the village and left through there as well," Sword replied as he looked at the west end toward the forest.
"Well thats good I say we get a drink and then attack the bandits at night," Grunt said as he started toward the tavern. Tarsé followed happily.
"I forgot to mention that there are ten to fiffteen bandits that attack this village alone," Sword said as he stopped the two in their tracks.
"We were told this would be an easy mission," Grunt replied as he looked down.
"Yeah an easy way to die," Tarsé said as Sword looked at him angerily.
"We are Warriors the greatest of them all. Even pesky bandits don't stand a chance," Sword said as pointed at the insignia on their armor.

"You will defend our village in the future, won't you?" The man asked as Sword walked away. But Sword didn't have time to answer. His two fellow Warriors approached. [green]"So what did you find?"[/green] the first asked. "The bandits entered the west edge of the village and left through there as well." [orange]"Well thats good I say we get a drink and then attack the bandits at night."[/orange] [green]"You idiot, we can't just 'attack them at night', we have to find their blasted hideout, fist,"[/green] Tarsé said, shoving Grunt to the side. [green]"You're always thinking with your first."[/green] Grunt muttered an annoyed retort. "I forgot to mention that there are ten to fiffteen bandits that attack this village alone" Sword put in. Tarsé swore. [green]"Ten to fifteen?? How are three of us supposed to take down ten or fifteen bandits? We aren't eqipped for this!"[/green] [orange]"We were told this would be an easy mission,"[/orange] Grunt said, looking down. [green]"Yeah an easy way to die,"[/green] Tarsé hissed. "We are Warriors the greatest of them all. Even pesky bandits don't stand a chance," Sword said, pointing to his armour. Tarsé glared at Sword. [green]"Who made you Guildmaster all of a sudden? Just because you've been to the academy doesn't mean you're better than us."[/green] [orange]"Hey, all we have to do is kill five bandits each, and we'll be okay,"[/orange] Grunt said, trying to stop the fighting. [orange]"And besides, Sword's right. These pesky bandits don't stand a chance. Especially with you around, eh Tarsé?"[/orange] he finished with a soft punch in Tarsé's arm. Tarsé was still giving Sword a dark look, but he seemed to have cooled off.

"No one made me guildmaster and the council probably never will give us a new guild leader," Sword hissed as he turned around.
"Lets get a quick drink," Sword said as he led the trio to the tavern. they entered to find it in turmoil. Chairs were everywhere and there was blood.
"By the gods," Grunt mumbled as he looked at the wreckage. "Those bandits did this?"
"Even more reason to kill them," Sword replied as he picked up a destroyed flag. They quickly left the tavern. They got back on their horses and headed westward.
"We kill them now," Tarsé said as they followed the winding trail.

((ooc/ Hey, Sword, when it comes to quests, I'm in controll of everything. Please don't god-mod Grunt and Tarsé. And I'll be the one to describe the locations you go to. All you have to do is play as Sword, and react to what I throw at you, basically. )) After they left the near-empty but clean tavern, the three Warrior apprentices set out. They started out in the direction the bandits were seen leaving. Unfortunately, the road began to wind through a pine forest, and the visibility dropped down dramatically. They could only see into the forest a few yards before everything blended into greens and browns. And they could only see so much of the road at one time due to its constant bends and turns. [green]"I have a bad feeling about this,"[/green] Tarsé muttered. [orange]"The bandits could be anywhere around here,"[/orange] Grunt added. [orange]"We're sitting targets on the road."[/orange] Grunt was right, but luckily nothing happened. Before long, they came to a fork in the road. The main path kept going on through the forest, the second was a less-used trail, probably leading to some homestead. The three knights came to a stop. [orange]"What do you think? Which way?"[/orange]

"I don't know," Sword replied as he looked down the two paths. "Personally i would go down the more traveled path. You know more merchants and travelers but inorder to stay hidden I would go down the less used path." Sword was amazed at how the bandits could led them to this spot then have no clues what so ever. He looked down the paths to see if he could tell which way they went. "We could set up an ambush here but then what would be the point if they don't attack for weeks," Sword turned back to his two comrades. "Any ideas?" ((OOC: Ok just got carried away ))

Grunt's horse neighed impatiently, causing its owner to stroke it's neck affectionately. [orange]"We could just continue down the main road and hope we find something...?"[/orange]
Tarsé snorted. [green]"You can if you want, but I'm going down here,"[/green] he said, steering his horse towards the smaller branch. [green]"I don't like being so far out in the open. Besides, we could go on for miles and miles without finding anything there."[/green]

Sword looked at the two warriors as they turned to follow the paths. "You could travel down both paths and find nothing," Sword thought aloud as he looked at the ground. He knew that finding these bandits would be hard but not this hard.
He looked over at Tarsé then at Grunt. "We need more information but from who and what?" Sword thought aloud again. He knew that the more traveled path would be just as likely as the homestead path.

[green]"Information yes. Who? Perhaps the people who live down here will know,"[/green] Tarsé suggested, indicating the road he wanted to take. [orange]"That sounds alright with me,"[/orange] Grunt replied. They both looked over at Sword.
