Rissterus, Oswin, and Elyiravëra had now been walking for several hours. The morning was slipping away, but Rissterus' relentless pace had kept up with it. He finally came to the meadow. He could tell all three of them were getting weary and needed a break. "We'll rest here," Rissterus announced, letting his pack slip to the ground.

Oswin came to a stop behind Elyira and walked to the side, setting his pack down in the grass also. He looked over at his two companions but didn't say anything. He was merely observing them. The long walk wasn't that difficult as Oswin had been on many pilgrimages which required long walks as well so he was accustomed to it. He looked out over the meadow. They were on the edge of the meadow. A forest was across from them and to the left, and a marshy lake was ahead and to the right.
Oswin sat down on the slightly damp grass and opened his pack. He withdrew a water canteen and took a drink from it.

Elyiravëra wearily set her pack down and sat down in the grass. She was somewhat used to walking, being a bard, but she hadn't done a long trek like this in a long time. She followed Oswin's example and drew out a waterskin, taking a long drink from it. She looked over at Rissterus and Oswin. "So we're heading to the Sanctuary of the Broken, then," she stated, trying to start a conversation. Perhaps now was the time she would find out what they were actually going to do there.

Rissterus looked out over the meadow as Oswin and Elyira started to put their things down. He then turned back to them and thrust his staff into the ground next to his pack. [black]"So we're heading to the Sanctuary of the Broken, then."[/black] Rissterus nodded. "That's our destination, yes." He sat down against a tree and pulled his pack closer to him. He opened it and withdrew a thick book. It's cover was red and it was bound by a leather string. It was his book of writings. It contained all the information he had gathered as a scholar. He opened it and flipped through it till he came to a section about the Sanctuary of the Broken.

"That's our destination, yes." Elyiravëra watched him get out a book and start looking through it. She was curious and tilted her head to the side, trying to see what was written inside. Still wanting to learn more about their journey, she spoke again. "It's a small island off the Mirawold's coast. What are we to do at the Sanctuary of the Broken?"

Oswin looked over. He had been looking out over the meadow and hadn't really been paying any notice of them. But the conversation now held his attention. He looked at Rissterus and Elyira, waiting for an the Sorcerer to answer.

Rissterus looked up at Elyira over the top of his book. He knew Oswin was now watching them but he took no notice. "So you know it was an island?" Rissterus questioned. "What else do you know of it? It could be very helpful. See Oswin, this is why I invited her along; I knew she would help," he said flashing a smile at the Priest.

Elyira sat back, playing with a long blade of grass in her right hand. She looked at Rissterus then quoted:
" 'The White Island is located off Mirawold's western coast. The white temple is home to the monks who keep the peace with the ancient gods of old. A bridge connected the island to the mainland, and every day the natives would bring the sick to be healed. It is one of the famed beauties of Mirawold' ."
Elyira stopped. "It goes on, I think, but I don't know the rest. My mother once told me about it. Now the location has been lost and it is somewhere in the uncharted territories. Evil overtook it and it was renamed the Sanctuary of the Broken. So the story goes."

Rissterus smiled as he looked back to the book. "Yes, the dark plague overtook it about four centuries ago. It fell to the dark forces, same as the rest of the Uncharted Territories. Your right about the bridge, as well. Though now it is gone and the island is seperated from the mainland." Rissterus looked over at Oswin to see what he thought of what was being said.m

a young girl sat in the high branches of a tree, not far off from the Sorcerer, Bard, and Priest. she shifted in the tree, watching them with wide, interested eyes. when the brought out their water, she licked her lips, feeling very thirst. if they had water, they would have food as well, and perhaps even money. however, they were likely much stronger than she, so she could not risk trying to steal from then, especially with no thick crowd to hide in. she resigned with just watching and listening, and praying to not be spotted.m

Oswin listened to Elyira as she spoke. He knew the early history of the Sanctuary of the Broken better than he did the later and current history. He listened to Rissterus' reply, taking a bite out of a bread roll. When Rissterus looked over at him, he was still silent, though it was plain that he was listening. He nodded to the Sorcerer, indicating he wanted him to continue speaking.

upon seeing the priest take out a bread roll, Calypso shifted slightly more forward, and in doing so caused the branch she was sitting on to crack. she gave a strangled cry of shock as she fell through the air, grabbing aimlessly at different tree branches, though all snapped under her sudden weight. she braced herself for the hard impact with the ground.

Rissterus spun around at the sound of Calypso's cry. His left hand instinctively snatched his Staff of Demise from it's spot. He then started to move cautiously towards the girl who had just fell from the tree, cautious for a trap. What was this? A diversion? A trap? A spy? He was about to find out.

she hit the ground with a hard thud. she just lay there for a few moments, in far too much pain to move, but then she realized that the three would have heard. she silently cursed her stupidity, and slowly struggled to sit up. she touched her head, bringing her hand back down to see blood on it. she felt as though she had broken her arm. she blinked up into the light, her head pounding with pain. her eyes landed on the sorcerer, who was now moving towards her. she tried to get away, but as she put pressure on her arm to push herself up pain shot through her arm, and she gave a small cry of pain. she slumped on the ground, knowing it to be useless. if she couldn't even stand, there was no point in avoiding the unavoidable. just to be safe, however, she pulled out her knife and slipped it up the sleeve of her shirt, in case she needed to defend herself.m
