Rissterus walked till he was out of earshot from the the camp. He tossed his pack down against a tree and gazed out over the lake. He was much nearer now than he had been before, by the meadow. The lake wasn't exactly beautiful - the water looked still and unmoving, as if the water was just sitting there, not having any new outputs or inputs. The water was a muddy brown, and the sun bounced off of the noonday sun, creating a reflection on the opposite bank.
Rissterus wasn't sure how long he spent looking out over the lake before he was aware of footsteps approaching. He turned, staff in hand (but unthreateningly), and looked to see who had come.

Elyiravëra walked up, lightly tossing her pack beside Rissterus'. "Hey," she said, stopping the silence. She walked over and stood next to him, glancing briefly at the Sorcerer beside her.
"What are you doing?" she asked, hoping she hadn't said the wrong thing.

Upon seeing it was Elyira, he turned back to looking at the lake. He pondered how to answer her question. He wasn't exactly sure what he was doing, actually. He was looking out at the lake, with no apparent objective. He realized the seconds were passing, and he needed to say something. Still, nothing came to mind.
Finally he gave up, and just ignored the question. He looked over at the Elf beside him. "You decided not to stay and socialize?"

A smile slowly came to Elyira's face. "You're mad at Oswin, aren't you?" To be completely honest, she didn't think he should've invited those two to lunch, even if he was just trying to be polite. They would probably have to stop off and get supplies, now. She looked out at the lake that Rissterus had been gazing at, wondering what he was thinking.

Rissterus laughed. "Mad at Oswin? No." He turned to the Elf, a smile on his face. "No, I'm not mad at him. I'm just exasperated at him. He's so -" Rissterus looked down at the ground, trying to find the right word. He looked up, having found it. "- frustrating."
He turned and looked back at the lake. "We're trying to keep to ourselves for a reason. I don't want our wherabouts known because it could be dangerous." He looked over at Elyra.
"We're being tracked, and Oswin isn't helping us stay hidden."

Elyira's face remained thoughtful. She didn't really see why Rissterus was so upset. She also didn't understand why he wanted them to stay hidden. "I don't want our wherabouts known because it could be dangerous." Elyira looked him in the eye, suddenly understanding. "What's the danger?" she asked slowly. "We're being tracked, and Oswin isn't helping us stay hidden." Her eyes widened slightly. "Tracked? By whom?" Elyira asked apprehensively.

Rissterus looked back to the lake. He remained silent; he would not tell Elyira. The silence lengthened. Eventually Rissterus broke it. "We should get back before Oswin does anything worse." He turned, leaning down to pick up his pack. "Come." Rissterus started back.

Elyiravëra's gaze lingered on Rissterus' profile. She waited for him to speak; she was expecting him to answer. After a long silence, she was about to ask again, more firmly, but Rissterus spoke first. "We should get back before Oswin does anything worse. Come." Elyira was going to press the issue, but Rissterus started to leave at a brisk pace. She picked up her own pack, then hurried after him.
