Ke'ntear jerked awake suddenly. The last thing he remember was kicking a goblin. He looked around quickly and realized he wasn't in the forest he had been in before. And it was no longer light out. It was just past dusk and Kent couldn't see where he was at first due to the darkness. Soon however, his eyes adjusted and with the help of a campfire off to his right, he realized he was in some sort of camp. There were a few tents, but Kent couldn't tell how many. From his view he could only see the edge of a camp. His swords were gone. He tried to turn to see how big the camp was but he couldn't; he was tied to a post.
This has to be a Goblin camp, Kent thought he started to get panicked. He wasn't dead which means they wanted him alive for who knows what reasons. He shuddered at the tales of what Goblins did to their captured victims. He struggled once more against the rope but it was to no avail - he was tied securely. Kent wasn't going anywhere.

Ke'ntear was left alone for several hours. He was hungry now, but he wasn't about to ask for dinner. As Kent noticed several figures entering tents, he felt warm breath on his neck. He stiffened as he heard a voice speak into his ear.
[orange]"Awake, are we?"[/orange] The Goblin laughed. His breath stank so badly Kent moved his head to away from it. The Goblin walked around him, then grabbed his chin and pulled him back so they were looking at eachother. The Goblin tilted his head to the side, observing Ke'ntear. [orange]"Hmmmm..."[/orange]
Kent wondered what the Goblin was doing. Are they planning on eating me, and he's trying to figure out how much I'll make? A grim smile played over Kent's face. He wouldn't become anyone's dinner without a fight.
The Goblin's head snapped back upright so he was no longer looking at Ke'ntear sideways. [orange]"Well what are you smiling for?!"[/orange] the Goblin shrieked angrily. Apparently he didn't like seeing his prisoners comfortable - which he must've mistaken Kent's smile to mean.
Kent looked at him for a moment, pondering how to answer. Finally he just leaned forwards and spat in the Goblin's face. The Goblin roared in anger, hitting the back of his gloved fist across Kent's cheek.
The blow forced Kent's head to swivel around so he was looking away from the Goblin. His head hurt from the blow, and everything seemed to spin around. After a moment, Kent could feel blood trickling down from his cheek from where the rough leather gloves had scratched him. He looked over at the Goblin again, still seeing blurred images.
The Goblin was wiping the saliva off his face and helm. He then grabbed Kent by the collar of his shirt and pulled him as close as Kent's bonds would allow. [orange]"I'm going to kill you for that."[/orange] Kent heard the harsh sound of a Goblin blade being unsheathed.
The Goblin lifted his hand, ready to burry the dagger in Kent's chest, but then another gloved hand grabbed his wrist, stopping the Goblin. There was a laugh. "Can't handle a mouthful of spit, can you?" The voice was deeper and gruffer than the Goblin's high pitched voice.
Kent's vision finally cleared. He could now see the second figure was much taller than the crouched Goblin, and he was stronger and more man-like. An Orc, Kent realized. There were supposed to be only Goblins, though!
The Goblin jerked his hand out from the Orc's firm grip, then tried again to stab Kent. The Orc's hand moved quickly from the Goblin's hand to his throat, cutting his angry cry to a choked scream, then shoved him backwards onto the ground.
[maroon]"You Goblins are all the same. Why don't you go back up to the BrokenPeak Mountains and leave the work to those who can actually handle it? Get out of here,"[/maroon] the Orc said, kicking a clump of dust at the Goblin. The Goblin rolled onto his hands and knees and from there pushed himself into his crouch, bounding away into the darkness.
The Orc turned back to Kent. [Maroon]"Don't think I saved you, Human." A grin washed across his face and then he stalked off. Kent leaned his head back, heart racing from the episode.
Get your act together, he told himself. You can't be cowardly now. Show some guts. After a moment of letting his own thoughts sink in, he leaned his head down to try to wipe the blood off his cheek onto his shoulder.

Sunstrider and the few left had tracked the goblins back to a camp nearly four miles away. They couldn't get close enough, seeing the great numbers. Strider saw nothing out of the ordinary. Just a clan of Icewind Goblins. Their rough blue skin and shaggy hair was clear in the night around the fires.
He opened his hand above him, palm down. Spread out. The warriors quietly spread out along the edge of the forest, hoping to catch sight of Ke'ntear, if he was still alive.

It wasn't long before everything went terribly wrong. The Goblins weren't stupid, they'd set up a perimeter and had caught one of the warriors sneaking around. The warrior had his limbs ripped apart before he had time to draw his sword.
The Goblins spread out quickly, searching for any more warriors. Strider took off into the forest, knowing the fight would be the death of them all. Xzas begged him to turn around and shed some more blood but Stylas knew the other warriors were dead by now and he would be next if he stayed.
He had other things to do than get killed today...

The day afterwards, the Goblins began to pack up camp. The Warriors now knew their location, and they had to move quickly. For some reason they kept Kent alive. All he could do was pray that he would survive the day. The Goblins forced Ke'ntear to carry a good amount of their things, and they treated him like a pack animal. He gritted his teeth and walked on, trying to ignore the taskmaster that was cracking his whip at him. The Goblins retreated into the BrokenPeak mountains. For days they marched deeper and deeper into the mountains. Kent was exhausted by the time they finally stopped. They had come to a shallow basin in the mountains, and it was here they began setting up camp. After a day of reconstructing their camp -- in which Kent was forced to do almost all the physical labor -- the Goblins began to settle down. For some reason they still didn't put Kent to death. Perhaps they had other uses for him.... Thread Closed
