"Xion Dong. But I haven't been there for years. I was a reckless child, and left before I was experienced. I guess I'm still reckless!"
Malick intercepted the warrior Taj. "If the cave is clear, we should try to preserve our torches. Perhaps our mage can light the way without wasting them. Malick turned to Retuke. "My good mage, could you please light our path?

(I Imagined Taj to scout up the mountain not in the tunnel, For I don't want the caravan to enter the tunnel merely camp the night at a cave a little up the mountain.)
Taj appeared, "The way is clear & I have found a place to rest the night out.."
He nodded to Mafasa to follow him as he spurred his horse around and readied to make way back up the mountain.
"Im taking the Van up the mountain for the night, If you are to follow come now for the snowfall gets heavier as you go higher and our tracks will soon get covered." He said to Retuke & Malick,
"That Eric fellow is old enough a man to take responsibilities for his own actions & his not under my wing so his fate is his own."
With that Taj lightly nudged his horse with his thighs and it started to make its way up the mountain, A crack of a whip soon followed and the Caravan was underway..

((ooc/ Oh, sorry. I didn't catch that. ))
Retuke looked hesitantly back into the tunnel, and was about to answer when Taj spoke.
"The way is clear & I have found a place to rest the night out.. Im taking the Van up the mountain for the night, If you are to follow come now for the snowfall gets heavier as you go higher and our tracks will soon get covered."
Retuke turned and jumped back onto the caravan. He was glad they weren't going to enter the mine. It all-around gave him a bad feeling. And he didn't like bad feelings.
"That Eric fellow is old enough a man to take responsibilities for his own actions & his not under my wing so his fate is his own."
Retuke merely blinked. He was half sorry for Eric, but he agreed with Taj more. "Malick, will you join us?"

"Naturally. I recently entered the world of humans. I would like to more about your race", gesturing to Taj.
"Do not worry about Eric too much. I came across him before in Das Duul. He is a good survivor.
They came across the opening Taj was talking about. Malick instinctively pulled out a flint stone and began making a fire.
"If I learned anything as a Ranger, fire and water are key elements for survival. I hope your good wine isn't too strong, Mafasa. I tend to be a very... stupid drunk.

Retuke held out his hand and pulled Malick aboard as the caravan started to rumble back down the path. Shortly later they arrived at the cave. They climbed out and Malick began to make a fire.
"If I learned anything as a Ranger, fire and water are key elements for survival. I hope your good wine isn't too strong, Mafasa. I tend to be a very... stupid drunk."
Retuke smothered a laugh and turned his head away. That last comment struck him as funny. After composing himself he turned back to the small group.
"So, Malick... tell us... what is it that you have been tracking?"

Taj tended to the horse's giving them feed and tying them to the caravan, he pulled out some previsions but kept it light.
He made his way over to the fire bringing a box full of travel foods, not the greatest tasting morsals but they gave the right amount of nuritions.
He walked in on the conversation with Retuke & Malick, "So, Malick... tell us... what is it that you have been tracking?" Asked Retuke, Taj was interested as he would play a part in the culling of these beasts but he had other issues that were pressing his thoughts..
He was on his knee's preparing a hunk of meat that didn't smell to fresh but could be cooked without fear of food poisioning..

"Well, I started to track them at the edge of Das Duul. At first I believed them to be common goblins that hunt in the forest every now and then. But after tracking them for several days, I realized they where going towards the mountain.
Malick paused to take a drink of the delicious wine.
"Good wine. This last discovery struck me odd. The goblins I normally hunt stick close to wet, damp places, where they can get food and wood easily. Further up the mountain I found a footstep and weapon of a large humanoid, like a troll. I started to head back, seeing that my travel across the mountain would need more supplies.
After I packed all I needed, I headed up the mountain. Unfortunately, the snowing has drasticly degraded my ability to track. I hate the snow. It's cold, harsh, and is never helpful. These "goblins" know where their going. They are heading north, in a perfectly straight path. Last time I checked, goblins don't really have a real destination. Maybe your travels up here can shed some light on the situation. Your knowledge of these peaks probably is better than my own."

Retuke held his hand to his chin as Malick told them the narrative. "I myself have been traveling on foot down the mountains, until I met with the caravan only a short while before. I found no signs of Goblins before that, but then, I avoided the more infested areas of the Peaks. I would say that the Goblins that you are tracking are IceWinds, and are native to the mountains. I do not know where they could be heading, but whatever they plan on doing, it is most probably something evil."

Taj listened his attention becoming more focused on Malick's story, all the meanwhile he prepared the meat and it now hung cooking over the fire. Mafasa was nearby cradelling a glass of his wine sastified with its taste..
"How many goblins do you believe to be in the possy Malick?" Taj asked his eye 's fixed on the flames of the fire.

"To be honest, I was trying to avoid telling you. It seems that there is more than one party of goblins. I did find different campsites all moving in one direction. I didn't want to tell any of you because I didn't want you all to start running in the other direction. I counted four different groups, of around ten goblins. This 'Troll' appears to be the leader, moving ahead of the other groups. The only thing I can conclude of all this is... an army. Around fifty goblins marching in one direction. I do fear we have an war on our hands. Thankfully, none of them saw me, so I expect them to be unaware of anyone else up here.
Malick made a quick hand prayer. "May the force be with us" (Heh, j/k)
"I think there are only a few groups left up in these mountains. We either kill as many as we can find, or we regroup and warn the warriors of Lebonwaith.

((ooc/ lol! ))
Retuke exhaled. "Fifty goblins and a troll." He looked from Taj to Malick. "You really want to try to attack that big of a group? We number three," he exclaimed, then looked over at Mufasa. "Well, four I guess, but even four against fifty is hardly good odds. Even if that Eric were to assist us, I doubt we'd last longer than ten minutes. Even that is extremely debateable."
He didn't mean to seem so cynical, but he he just couldn't see them trying to fight that many goblins.

Taj cocked an eyebrow,
"It seems strange that a warband be heading away from the main force, This would mean thier are arguments amongst thier generals.. Look Malick Retuke is right we are no match for 50 goblins & not forgetting the troll, I have more than my neck to worry about so I'll say to you this.. Come morning im leaving, Taking the Van straight to Lebonwaith, my advice is you leave this warband to whatever it's interested in, they are most probably heading back to thier village anyway."
Taj took the meat of the fire pulling a hunting knife from the pack he started cutting strips for the travellers.
"Haha & I don't think asking the warrior's guild for help would prove any use, the Elders thier don't know if thier right or left at the moment, If you want to wish to get back at these creatures why don't you turn your hand towards supporting the war? an Alliance of guilds is what Lebonwaith needs at the now, that is my oppinion."

Malick just sat there drinking his wine. He appeared dissapointed.
"So be it. I suppose that you are all right. We should get some rest. I will stand guard for the night. Do not worry for your safety, my eyes are as good as a hawk's.
Malick pulled out his bow and watched over the vast valley bellow them. Malick partially wanted them to stay and fight, but he knew that it was a losing battle. There was no way 4 travelers could take on an army of goblins. He was foolish, and realized his lust for battle was confusing his thoughts. Or maybe it was just the wine...

Retuke remained silent for the rest of the conversation. He agreed with Taj, but at the same time, he didn't wish to offend the Ranger Guildmaster. He feared he may have already done so when he spoke his mind a moment earlier. If war came to Mirawold, then he did not want to be the one responsible for disrupting relations between the Mages and the Rangers. And then, Taj was correct; the Warrior Guild was very weak at these times. That was why the Goblins had become more daring.
Retuke ate his meat, thinking in silence. Eventually Malick rose, taking his bow. "So be it. I suppose that you are all right. We should get some rest. I will stand guard for the night. Do not worry for your safety, my eyes are as good as a hawk's." Retuke looked up and nodded. "Wake one of us when you wish to rest."
After some brief words with Taj and Mafasa, Retuke spread his bedroll and went to sleep.

Shortly after Retuke retired to sleep Mafasa follwed, Taj placed another bundle of wood on the small fire and then made his way to the mouth of the cave where Malick sat guard watch.
"I Hope I didn't offend you before Malick, I hope you see where im coming from." Taj sat down on the cold rock next to Malick "These matters aside there is something I wish to talk with you about"
The night was thick with fog but the moon shone with an intensity so it was easy to see out the cave's mouth and down the mountainside, Behind them the warmth of the fire spilt out into the cold night, the horses were deep in sleep.. All was quiet except the crackling of flames & the slight breeze flowing outside..
