Caravan to Lebonwaith (Closed)

[Retuke]

After another ten minutes of preparing the caravan to go, the small group of travellers set out. The storm had passed and now only small flakes were drifting lazily down. Retuke sat next to Mafasa at the front of the caravan, observing the passing scenery. There didn't look like there were any sign of Goblins, and the Mage allowed himself into a false sense of security...

[Taj Rahk'on]

Taj sat on the drivers bench next to Mafasa..
He had his jacket on for as the weater wasn't harsh it still had a cold tinge to it..
They had passed the river ford clearing the barricade & the journey had been smooth, the horse's pulled them steadily along the Trader's Highway and thought of yesterday's troubles were fading from Taj's mind.

He thought about home, or what he called his home now..
A small room in the Warrior's Guild.. Filled with empty bottles of rum it wasn't the warm welcome he felt he needed.. So he thought when he finally got to Minas Rithes he might go to his favourite pub, The Snake's Tail Tavern.. There was a bargirl there who held herself a little more respectfully than the other girls Taj spent his nights with & the sleepless nights he spent with her were becoming a little more often than not.
'Maybe I should take her as my wife & she wouldn't have to work at the sleazy Tavern anymore' He thought then laughed & slapped the thought clean form his head as it scared him.. 'Oh crap.. Im getting old' he thought and sighed..

What Mafasa & the others would of seen was Taj sitting there gazing into space, suddenly laughing & slapping himself then sighing as if manicly depressed..

He suddenly relised this then burst out laughing again and looked around coming back to where he actually was.. Sitting on a Caravan traveling 'The Traders Highway'

His eyes became alert as he stood up and sighted around them.. The land was flat if slanting slightly downwards and the BrokenPeak Mountains were becoming further & further behind them.. Soon they would be in the territory of Lebonwaith and upon the nitorious Plains & Wilderness.
He sat back down..

"No more than two days travel now Mafasa" He stated as he looked back towards the road..

[Malick Varian]

As the others were talking, Malick continued to look out the side of the opening. At the bottom of the hill below them, he saw an odd sight: a band of humanoid beings traveling away from the mountain. The group was about a quarter kilometer away.

Upon further inspection, he saw what the group was. A small group of goblins. Most of them were white, obviously IceWinds. But what was really peculiar was the other goblins, the StickHands that previously roamed his forest not too long ago.

"Stop the caravan, Mafasa"

The caravan lurched to a sudden halt. Malick noticed that the IceWinds were leading the StickHands, which looked extremely agitated and cold. The StickHands appeared to be as comfortable in this elevation as a squirrel would. When the caravan stopped, the slope they were on caused a sharp noise. Hopefully, the goblins didn't notice.

Bad part is, they did.

[Retuke]

Retuke was half listening to Mafasa chatter and half listening to Taj talk to himself. Mostly, though, he was thinking of the events that had transpired in the Mage Guild House not too long before. His attention was suddenly jerked back to the present when Malick ordered the caravan to halt.
Mafasa obediently obliged.
"What's wrong?" Retuke whispered, standing up and leaping down next to the Ranger. Unfortunately, even though he removed his weight from the caravan, its cargo still was heavy enough to make it slide forwards a little bit, causing a loud noise.
Retuke froze, looking at Malick.
"What's wrong?" he whispered again.

[~ Hero Nemesis ~]

The party of Goblins halted as they heard the rumble of the caravan on the slope. There was a moments silence as a score and ten Goblin eyes looked up towards the group of travelers.
Then a helm's goblin - the IceWind leader - stepped forwards, drawing his sword.
"ATTACK!!!" he screeched, pointing his weapon at the group. With a savage, high-pitched war-cry, the goblins attacked. 20 Icewinds and 10 StickHands. It would take the StickHands awhile to reach them, as they weren't accustomed to climbing up steep snow-covered inclines. The IceWinds, however, would be on them very soon.

The Caravan came to a sudden halt & Taj was almost thrown forward off the bench.. He stood up and saw the warband of goblins running towards them..

He estimated there to be about 30 of them..

"d**n IT!!.. Mafasa in the Van NOW!!" He yelled above the rappidly growing noise.

Taj quickly pulled off his jacket as it restricted his movements in battle.. The cold air quickly hit his bare skin and addrennalin started pumping through his veins..

Cracking his knuckles he jumped onto the ground.. The light layer of snow over the rocky terrain was fairly slippery sp he had to keep his balance.. Running towards the oncoming warband he mouthed a quick prayer to the god of war..

The first Icewind was upon him.. he jumped up into the air & struck down with his fist into the goblins skull crushing in in one blow..

Rubbing his knuckles clean of blood he looked around for the leader.. Seeing him walk straight towards him Taj unsheathed his sword.. It sung a deadly song as it cut through the wind..

The Icewind Goblin snarled as they engaged in combat..

"ATTACK!!!" The Goblin Leader cried.

Retuke looked down at the approaching warband. Taj landed next to him after leaping off the caravan and began charging forwards. Retuke braced himself, stepping a few paces ahead of Malick. Taj was a mélee fighter whereas Malick was a ranged fighter. Retuke could be both, being a magic user. He readied a spell as Taj scored his first kill. An arrow flew past him with remarkable speed. Now it was Retuke's turn. He lifted his staff and emmited a blast of magic, sending and invisible blurr towards the warband. Two Goblins were lifted into the air by the magic and sent flying down the mountain to their deaths.

The IceWind leader parried Taj's attack and the two stood looking at each other for a moment then Taj's perifial visions saw a goblin to his left trying to sneak in a killing blow.. With a quick step back Taj managed to let the Goblin stumble in the path of its own leaders blade, it quickly died from a gash to the neck.. The Icewind leader didn't seem to care & pressed on the attack..

The clang of steel on steel rang clear as sparks emitted into the space between the two fighters locked in combat..Thier eye's locked on one another Taj released pressure on the blade on his sword ramming the weight of the hilt forward toward the Goblin Leaders face..

[Z, the slayer (dead)]

Z still clung to the bottom of the wagon. It was the only way he could keep up with the caravan without being seen. He didn't hear anybody in the wagon anymore. No footsteps or voices. He crawled out one side.

He was on the side opposite of the battle. He looked through the caravan. Empty. No one was inside. He heard a commotion on the opposite side of the caravan. He quickly scanned the hillside. Goblins. Lots of them. He saw that Malick wasn't having any trouble protecting himself.

He saw the mage, Retuke. Beside an Icewind was Taj. Z was looking for his target, but Mafasa was no where in sight. He checked the caravan once more. Mafasa was gone.
"D*** it."

Whether his target was gone or not, his allies needed help. He strode down the mountain. In one fluid motion he drew his dagger and slit the throuts of two Stickhands. He came across an Icewind trying to cut down Malick. Z slashed out with the skill of a true assassin.

Retuke's boulder seemed to have maimed one of the goblins, and caused a few others to scurry. However, an IceWind managed to run up and slice at Retuke. He stepped back, swinging his staff up to parry the blow. His staff was made of wood, yes, but it was coated in protective layer of magic and would withstand a slice from most swords.
