The door swung noislessly inwards, revealing a well-furnished office-like room. An oak desk was opposite the door. Two candlesticks with three candles on each sat on either side of the desk. There was a couch to the left, and a fireplace surrounded by bookshelves to the right. There were four drawers on the desk. Three contained business papers, but the fourth was locked...
To unclock the drawer, roll an agility check and add Thievery Bonus. Required roll: 12 To break the lock, roll an attack roll. Drawer has 0 defense and 6/6 HP. You will also be required to roll a sound check.

Aiden shook the drawer. Locked...
Pick lock: 4 Agility + 2 Thief Bonus + [dice=6] = 7
He was unable to pick the lock so he took out his dagger from under the clothes and tried forcing it open. It was only a desk drawer. It couldn't be too good of a lock.

There was a crack and the drawer shifted position. It could now be opened. Unfortunately, the wood surrounding the drawer had very visible cracks around it. Inside the drawer lay a dagger. Crystals decorated both the hilt and the sheath. Underneath the dagger were some more papers that didn't look significant.
Roll a Sound Check. Required roll: 4 (Just roll the die.)

He hoped no one heard him opening the drawer. He quickly took the dagger.

Aiden waited for the sound of footsteps, but none came. No one must've heard him. He was safe, for the time being anyway.
Aiden Kelley as aquired a Dagger (+2).
There was nothing else in the room that interested Aiden. The short hall was still empty. There now remained the second locked door and the staircase. Or he could turn back and try somewhere else...

Aiden took a look at the heavy lock and decided against it. He went back to the lit staircase and looked up at the opening above. He hoped there was no one upstairs. He climbed the staircase quietly.

There was no door at the top, merely an open archway. It led into a decently sized, empty room. Aiden decided it must be a ballroom of some sorts. He could see two doors, one on the left wall, and one on the opposite side of the room from him. Neither looked locked.
Suddenly, Aiden heard footsteps on the stone staircase behind him!
Roll agility check to either hide in the ballroom, try to escape through one of the two doors, or wait.
Required rolls -- To hide in the ballroom: 10 To escape through the left door: 8 To escape through the back door: 10 To wait by the staircase arch: 6

Aiden heard the footsteps and bolted for the door to his side. He hoped it didn't lead outside.

He got to the door. Locked! "My luck is just grand." He muttered, running to the staircase, hoping to catch whoever it was by surprise. No turning back now.

The footsteps grew nearer until a man stepped through the opening. A sword was girded around his waist. The man passed by Aiden, unaware of his presense. He looked around the room.

Aiden slipped his dagger from inside his clothes and raised it to stab him in the shoulder. There was no use in trying to talk his way out. He thrust the blade downward.

The man suddenly spun, seeing the attack out of the corner of his eye. He caught Aiden's wrist as it came down, barely stopping the attack. He shoved Aiden back then drew his sword, retreating at the same time. He lunged forwards, swinging down. The ceiling in the room was high enough to allow lots of sword-swinging, and the guard took advantage of it.

[green]The guard had but a moment to grin at his successful attack before Aiden reposted, thrusting the dagger towards the guard's chest. He swung his sword down to try to knock the attack wide, or perhaps take off Aiden's arm, but daggers were extremely hard to parry with a sword...

He ducked to the side, trying to glance the blow off the dagger.

He survived another attack, moving in to make one of his own. He stabbed hard, his muscles tensing. The guard stepped to the side, barely dodging. Aiden rolled and recovered next to a set of armor, probably the family armor of the Plantation. He reached back, taking the armor's sword.
Again he charged, this time putting more into his attack.
