"Seraphin! Are you alright?" She felt herself being lifted up. But... Retuke must be stronger than she realized. "Alive, yes. Alright, not completely. I have enough strength to walk, however, so I ask you put me down." Although, it was very charming, being carried. She didn't want Retuke to strain himself. Even if she wasn't able to walk, she would have said she was. But, it appeared they were in the BrokenPeak Mountains, which means that if she could walk maybe 3 miles, they would be to the Guild House.

Retuke wasn't exactly carrying Seraphin, but when she asked him to put her down, he tried to help her sit up, too. When she was off of him, Retuke fell backwards into the snow again. He closed his eyes tightly, lifting a hand up to his head. The largest headache Retuke had ever gotten was beginning to build up.
The back of his head was beginning to get cold as he wasn't wearing a hood and had short hair. He slowly got back up into a sitting position. "Ugh, so where are we?" he asked, still holding his head.

"It appears we are in the BrokenPeak Mountains. It's not too far to the Guild House," She looked into the distance. "Matter of fact, I believe our happy homestead is just after the crest of that next hill...Are you alright, Retuke?" She was more worried about him then she was about herself. Seraphin extended her hand down to Retuke, hoping she was strong enough to help him up.
She couldn't help but repress a shiver. The bad news was that her favorite sable cloak was now in the pantry of Endelen's tavern. The worse news was that Seraphin was freezing cold. And tired. And in pain.

Retuke slowly started to grin. "Ha! You did it Seraphin! That was amazing! Agh," he hung his head again, having exerted to much energy. "I'll... I'll be fine. I'm just... so weak." He took her hand, but wasn't quite able to pull himself up.
"Erm... give me a minute. Perhaps if we just rest a bit..." he shivered, the cold beginning to penetrate his outfit. He, too, had left his cloak in Endelen's Tavern.

"Yes, a rest is just what we need..." She stood huddled up, rubbing her arms. The cold was starting to sink in, a numbness spreading through her. But, she needed to get to the Guild House, that much was clear.
She sat down in the snow next to Retuke. Once she rested, Seraphin would be able to stand again. Standing there would have just sapped her energy more.

Retuke and Seraphin sat together in silence. They were both drained and needed rest. However, sitting in the snow on a windy mountainside didn't provide very fitful rest. As soon as they could, they would have to move on.
"I hope Malakai is okay," Retuke muttered. He was starting to shiver. "I don't know if I can make it to the Guild House, Seraphin, but maybe we can find a cave or something. It's freezing out here."

"I hope he is too, but you're right. It's cold. We need to find someplace to stay, make a fire.." Seraphin stood up, not sure how she exactly managed it. "I would cast a spell, but I'm afraid I am too weak to. We'll have to do this the mundane way." She shielded her eyes and looked about, hoping to see an immediate landmark.
"Over there I think! It looks like a mound of some sort. I hope it turns out to be a cave." She pointed roughly northwest of them. What she didn't say was that it was almost impossible to measure distance when on a flat part of a mountain. The cave could be a quarter mile away, or five miles away.

Retuke followed Seraphin's gaze, and squinted, trying to spy the mound she saw. "I see it," he said slowly, still trying to see through the falling snow. "... I think." He tried get up, but he suddenly felt dizzy and sat down again. He took a moment to clear his head, then tried again. He managed to get to his feet, but he felt very weak.
"I hope it's not far," he said gloomily. "Let's go, with luck we might make it."

Seraphin took Retuke's arm. He clearly was not well. She was worried they wouldn't make it home, or even to the cave. She was just as unsteady as he was, but together they might be able to struggle over.
"Are you sure you'll be alright, Retuke?" He looked worse for ware, that was clear. But he was strong, she knew also.

Retuke couldn't help but lean on Seraphin a little, but he made sure he wasn't putting too much weight on her. They began to move slowly over the snow drifts towards the aforementioned cave. "I'll be alright, after some rest," Retuke replied. "How about you? You seem as strong as ever," he grinned tiredly.

Z slept a deep sleep. It was the cold of these mountains where he felt at home. Where he could hear nothing but the wind pressing against him. He would sometimes smirk to himself, finding it ironic that his best example of "home" was only a few miles of where he died. He didn't care. His old life as an assassin was dead anyway.
As he slept, he didn't hear the two magi approaching his dark cave. He only heard the heavy winds of the BrokenPeak Mountains, and fell into an even deeper sleep.

"I think we're almost there! It'll be nice to get out of this blasted wind." Seraphin was able to see the mouth of the cave. It looked almost as if someone was already inside of it. Hopefully it wasn't a bear, or any violent animals. She didn't have quite enough strength to fight it off, and Retuke was worse than her.
As they drew closer, she could see that it was clearly a man, asleep or dead. If the man was kind, she hoped for the former. If he was unfriendly, she hoped for the latter.

"Excellent; I'm worn out." The two magi had arrived at the mouth of the cave, which was created by large slabs of stone leaning on eachother. There was large snowdrift above it, but it the cave looked stable. Suddenly, Retuke's elven eyes picked up something inside. It was stationary, but it looked like the figure of a man sleeping. "Is that..." Retuke trailed off, squinting to try to see through the lasting effects of his blurred vision. He knew if he could see the man then so could Seraphin, and she was likely to understand his unfinished sentence.

"I think so. Let's hope he's friendly. Don't wake him up, please." Retuke hadn't even been moving to do so, but Seraphin found it good to be wary. She sat down against the wall of the cave. It was warmer than outside, although little gusts of snow kept blowing in from the storm. She examined the sleeping man, scrutinizing with the particular eyes of a mage. He didn't look exactly friendly, or like much of a warm person, but he didn't look like one to cause any trouble. Of course, looks can be deceiving. Everyone looks halfway nice when they are asleep, unless they're having a nightmare. Her thoughts were always quite practical, and always a help when making decisions.

The need for power guided his mind, and his magic. A full year of solitude has made him cold, alone, and somewhat less sane. Reasoning was gone, and survival was everything. Z hasn't tasted decent meat for a month, and any nourishment was valuable.
He felt them: In his dreams, two beings of power, light. They stood there, shining, glowing, powerful. Their presence made him nervous, hungry. The dream progressed, and the powers seemed so peaceful, so weak.
His fear grew, and his hunger became obsession.
Z woke, and lunged toward the dimmer of the two lights: Retuke. The fear and hunger drove his magic toward the young mage.
(I won't be irritated if you want to act out my character. Be creative. Why not smack him around a bit. Make this role play a little more interesting. This would be kinda hard to do, if we had to ask permission to do stuff to one another's character, so I am giving both of you permission to do what you want with Z.)
