(ooc~ continued from A Rift to the Unknown in the Mage's Guild)
Malakai the Everchosen stood in a small dark room that was luminated only by the fient glow of a Rift behind him.. Around him he could make out numerous jar's stacked neatly of shelves filled with biscuits and dried beef, Near his feet were sacks of rice & wheat, He assumed his was in a small pantry of sorts & took advantage of being so he had opened a jar and was now gauging on its contents, An extremely tasty batch of cookies..
On the other side of the Pantry door he could hear people talking in elvish tounge & panpipes playing out a story telling.. He heard footsteps coming his way and before he had the chance to try and hide the pantry door swung open and a young elf jumped back alarmed at finding a Drow covered in crums from a jar of cookies standing quite awkardly in the Tavern's Pantry..
Malakai grinned at the awkardness and shrugged his shoulders humouresly then was grabbed by a heavy set of hands and pulled from the Panty, the next thing he knew was being questioned at sword point..

((ooc/ I'm going to hope it's okay if Retuke is in another thread besides the Caravan to Lebonwaith because this was from a Guild House thread. So, hopefully the Caravan to Lebonwaith thread will be finished up soon and everything will be okay. ;D ))
Retuke appeared suddenly in the pantry. The door was ajar, and Retuke could see Malakai being dragged down a hall. Retuke flattened himself against the wall, hiding in the shadows. Safe indeed! Retuke thought, remembering Malakai's signal before he had gone back through the rift. Retuke had followed moments later and was just in time to witness Malakai's capture.
He shouldered his pack, then noticed Malakai's in the corner. He reached over and shouldered the second pack. He needed to find a place to deposit them, then find a way to rescue the Drow.
Retuke cautiously stepped out of the pantry and hurried partway down the hall, slipping through an open doorway, finding himself in the tavern. Everyone was looking the other way, watching the Bard tell his story. Retuke made his way to the back of the tavern, near an unoccupied table. He placed the two packs underneath the table and started to head back. He would just have to hope that the packs wouldn't be stolen.
He reentered the hall and hurried towards the place he had seen Malakai being taken. There were stairs around the corner, and after a brief pause, Retuke hurried up. At the top was another hallway with doors on the sides. Light was coming from under one of them. He went over to the door and listened.....

Seraphin watched through the cat's eyes as Retuke winded through, luckily the cat smelled Retuke and followed. Martin rubbed around his ankles, purring when he caught up. Seraphin cursed to herself, and couldn't believe how reckless she had been. With the spell she had used, she could only see and hear through the cat, and speak through him. But if Retuke spoke to the cat, Seraphin would speak back. She didn't know where Malakai was, had they appeared in different places of the inn?

Retuke felt Martin brush against him. He looked down and recognised the guild cat. He bent down and picked the cat up, trying to muffle his purring. "What are you doing here?" he hissed at the cat. "You followed us through the rift, didn't you? Bad cat!" He did not want Martin to alert the men inside the room with Malakai that he was listening, so he pulled his cloak over the cat.

Seraphin scolded through Martin,"Who are you calling a bad cat! You idiots created the rift, unknowing whether it was stable, worried me half to death, and now, you act innocent. When you guys get back, I will.....i'm not quite sure yet, but it will be bad. Now where's the fool Drow elf that did this?" She was angry, but worried. Travel through space could be very consequentious to one's health, and she didn't see him. If they did make it back okay, she might just promote the two of them, or Malak for performing extremely difficult magic without help.

Retuke started, stepping away from the door. Martin was talking? Or was it Serphin? Retuke released the cat and bent down to look at him. "Seraphin, is that you?" was all he could think to say. Seraphin must've cast a spell where Martin would be her eyes, ears, and voice.

"No, it's your mother. Who else would be dumb enough not to just set a spell where she controlled the cat?" Seraphin sighed back in the mage's guild, and put her head in her hands. He was not telling her the important thing.

Retuke half winced, half smiled. Yep, it was Seraphin alright. His half-smile disappeared as he came closer to the cat. "Seraphin, Malakai's in that room. I think he's in trouble."

"Shall I come through the rift then? I could maybe pay for whatever he did. Or offer the Mage Guild's pardons, for all that they are worth.." Seraphin had a feeling it was something like this.

Retuke looked around the hall, worried someone might come soon. He wished they were in a more hidden place. Further down the hall was a closet that might have enough room for Martin/Seraphin and Retuke to hide in. He scooped up the guild cat and carried him to the closet. He set him down and closed the door. After using a quick magic word to light his staff, he bent down to talk to Seraphin once more.
"I'm worried it might not be something that Malakai did. I think it's just because he's a Drow." Retuke's eyes betrayed his worry. Elves and Drows did not get along.

"I'm coming, quietly. If they find an elven mage in there, they'll take me too, and I can talk our way out of there. I'm a woman, and a Guild Master. I can talk my way out of a lot of things." Seraphin started walking towards Malak's room, and to the rift that was in there.

"Alright Seraphin. I'll meet you by the pantry." Retuke stood back up. The light on his staff died down till he and Martin were both left in darkness. "Stay here," he told the cat before slipping out of the closet. The hallway was still empty, and he was able to retrace his steps till he was in sight of the pantry.

Seraphin walked into Malak's room, and went into te rift. Faster than she thought, she was at Endelen's pantry. "Retuke?" She said softly. She looked around the dim room.

A moment later, Retuke opened the pantry door, slipped in, and quickly closed it again. He turned around so he could face Seraphin. It was rather cramped in the small pantry, but he was able to bow his head. "I appologize for being so reckless, Seraphin. But it was Malakai who started it." Retuke wasn't sure why he felt the need to shift the blame, but for some reason he did. Maybe it was Seraphin's words earlier about punishments.

"I know. I still haven't figured out what to do though. But, Malakai has gone through punishment enough by being taken..he's probably being humiliated." Seraphin just noticed how much taller Retuke was compared to her. Her head didn't touch the ceiling, but he had to bow. She wondered how they could go about the rescue.
