"Right."
Retuke quickly went to work, unlacing the leather straps that held the unconscious guard's leather armour on. When it was free of the body, Retuke pulled off his Mage's Robe handed it to Seraphin. Without the outter robe, Retuke's shortsword could be seen. He suddenly froze, looking up. He thought he heard something. ... No, just his imagination. I must just be nervous. Being out in the hall like this isn't the best place to hide. It's right out in the open.
He pulled the armour over his head and began to lace it on. He did it in such haste that it was lose and sloppy. And it didn't even fit him properly.
"Alright, I'm ready. Let's go."
Retuke took a deep breath and stepped out into the tavern.

Seraphin took the robe and prayed to all the gods that she could think of that this would work. If it didn't, she was unsure of what would happen. Probably death...she forced herself to redirect her thoughts. Retuke would not die. If he did, his life was given for the welfare of his guildmate. Breath in, breath out. It would turn out okay. She heard sounds from the outside. Hopefully Retuke was getting the ruse to work.

Retuke held a slightly positive view on things. As he entered the tavern room, his thoughts were on mostly the same things. If the trick failed, than he figured they'd use magic and fight their way out.
The people were all gathered around the dais where the bards usually played, shouting at the prisoner of the four town guards. He swallowed and pushed his way through the crowd. Once at the front, he stepped up onto the dais. The guards looked at him with stupid, questioning faces.
"Well, uh," Retuke started. He was too quiet to be heard of the noise, and raised his voice. "I'm afraid there's been a mistake!" he called. The head of the town guard stepped forwards, rather angry.
[green]"What do you mean!"[/green]
"Well, as a matter of fact, this drow elf is no thief at all. It was all a mistake."
[green]"How so? How could there be such a mistake?"[/green]
The crowd had silenced. Retuke forced all of his worry down, and put all of his charisma into the bluff.
"The cook misplaced the cookiees."
((ooc/ ....................All shall now depend on this single die roll. 1-3 and the Town Guard does not believe Retuke's story. 4-6, and Retuke's bluff succeeds! )

((ooc/Fudge nuggets!!!! It doesn't like me because i'm Irish.)) "The cook misplaced the cookiees." Seraphin's eyes widened when she heard the signature CHING of a sword being drawn. Before she could realize what she was doing, she burst into the front room, robes billowing around her. If she had been able to see herself, she would be shocked at how commanding she seemed. And how much like the crazy mages of legend she looked. Just then, she knew that they would have to fight their way out.

Retuke stepped back, raising his hands slightly when the town guard drew his sword. Retuke briefly noted everyone's locations. The head town guard was in front of him, sword drawn. There was a second town guard behind him, probably drawing his sword. Malakai was a few yards to his right, and the other two town guards were with him. Then he saw Seraphin coming into the room, looking like the powerful Mage Guildmaster that she was.
Time to move, he decided. He suddenly stepped forwards, whacking the sword out of the way with his arm, then kicked up, pushing firmly against the leader's chest. Everyone in the crowd started shouting again as the town guardsman flew off the dais and into the crowd, sending several people to the floor. One of the remaining three guards started dragging Malakai towards the door, while the other two began moving in on Retuke.
Finding himself surrounded, Retuke spun around and jumped off the dais. The lead Town Guardsman was just getting up when Retuke landed in front of him. Before he could do anything, Retuke smashed the hilt of his weapon into the guard's helmet, sending him reeling to the floor again. The two guards were about to jump off after him, and the third was almost to the door with Malakai.
"Seraphin!" he shouted, pointing to Malakai. He started pushing his way through the crowd as the guards began to chase him.

Seraphin heard Retuke's call. Knowing that she could not run and catch up with the guard and Malakai before they got out, she cast a spell.
The words of magic flowed inside her brain, and she uttered forth some, causing a bolt of light similar to a bullet to strike the third guard in the chest. He collapsed to the floor, dropping her guildsman in the process. She hoped Retuke could hold his own with the two guards for a short while, as she needed to quickly rebuild her strength.8

((ooc/ Okay so it's been like, a year since I posted last. Forgive me if there are some continuity errors in this post. )) Retuke grabbed one of the patrons by the shirt and pulled him out of his way as he tried to evade the guards. He was a mage, not a warrior! The sword in his hand felt uncomfortable, and he just dropped it. The armour he was wearing was slowing him down, and he started trying to unlace it as he ran. The guards were right behind him, and suddenly he felt one of their hands grab onto his shoulder. Retuke dove forwards, and the guard wound up tearing the leather armour completely off. Retuke hit the floor and started crawling under a table. He was filled with adrenaline, and now his sole intent was to escape the guards. He came out from the other side of the table, got up, and shoved the table into the guards. While the guards fumbled to free themselves, Retuke scanned the room for Seraphin.

Seraphin stood back up from her quick respite, looking for Retuke. She would never forgive herself if he died. She found him, and ran over, shoving guards and civilians out of the way as she did. "We need to get out of here, but the rift is out of the question. I think I will have to attempt warping us out myself. I'll come back later for Martin." How she hoped this would work. Warping could cause sickness and disease, and shortened people's lives, but being an elf, she didn't worry too much about it. 10 or 20 years meant nothing to those who would live centuries. She could change her face, and attempt to come back through the rift later for Martin. Another thing that worried her a bit was her strength at the moment. It seemed she would have to tap into Retuke's to get them to the bottom of the BrokenPeak mountains, or anywhere away from Adenwar. In her bewilderment, she had forgotten the purpose of the fight with the guards in the first place; Malakai.

((ooc/ So, obviously Malakai won't be posting. Are we going to leave him behind, or treat him like an NPC? ))

((ooc/....ah......uh......As much as I feel bad about abandoning a member of my guild.....both. Even if we save him, he'll just be another NPC to throw around, and it won't be like the Malakai that was there before. T_T I guess we will have to leave him...))

Retuke shoved his way through the crowd until he reached Seraphin. By now the guards were coming after them; they'd be upon the magi within moments. "Do something!" Retuke urged. There was no sign of Malakai; he must've escaped through the doors. The problem for them was that now angry tavern patrons were blocking the doors. And the guards were almost on them. "Do something!" Retuke whispered loudly, again. His voiced was panicked.

Seraphin's heart was racing, pounding in her head. How could she escape this? It was impossible for them to run out, and she couldn't warp them out, not without stealing Retuke's strength, and she didn't know if even the both of them had enough combined to get them out of Adenwar. But, she had to try. Malakai was gone; that much was clear. She was upset that she had to leave a good friend, but there was no other way. "Retuke...I'll have to take your energy as well as mine to make this spell work. Are you ok with that?" The crowd was drawing closer, so she really didn't have to ask that. But, it made her feel better if she did. It wasn't stealing if she had consent.

Retuke took a second to hear and comprehend what Seraphin said, and another to act on it. He trusted his guildmaster entirely, and without a single thought of doubt, he held out his hand to clasp it in hers. "It's yours," he said quiet enough so only she could hear.
The soldiers suddenly appeared, pushing their way through the crowd. One lunged for them, the others moved to surround them. If they were to do anything, they would have to do it now.

"It's yours." Suddenly, escape was possible. Seraphin stepped agilely out of the way of the lunging guard, and the words came to her mind. She shouted them, although her eyes were closed. When she opened them, they were no longer in the tavern.
They were surrounded by snow. I hope this is the right place. If it's not, I have no way to get us back..or anywhere... Indeed, her strength was starting to fail her. As the magic poured from her, her energy had as well. Seraphin collasped against Retuke. She had underestimated her strength, perhaps, and was now paying the price.

Retuke remembered Seraphin stepping around him to dodge the guard, shouting an incantation. As she spoke, however, Retuke felt his energy suddenly drain away. His vision blurred a little, then everything went white. * * * Retuke felt drugged. His vision was still blurry, and he felt severely weakened, as if he had just cast a very taxing spell. He dropped to his knees, still reeling from the warp. Then Seraphin collapsed down against him. Retuke, groggy as he was, managed to catch her, but the unexpected weight sent him falling backwards to the snow. Snow?! He hadn't noticed the snow till now. His vision was clearing, and he finally took in his surroundings. Snow to the left, snow to the right, snow under him. Seraphin was on top of him. Seraphin!Retuke struggled to get up. "Seraphin! Are you alright?" He managed to sit up, cradling Seraphin in his arms.
