as the skeletons prepared their magic skirmish, Z used this chance to his advantage.
Running as quickly as his sluggish, undead body allowed, he moved towards the line of magi.
He used his own necromantic magic to force one of the skeletons to blast at one of its allies.
The result worked perfectly.
The master of the small army was obviously confused about this, and made his remaining force to destroy the rebel. Chaos began, and magic bolts streamed across the battle field.
There was an opening straight through the clashing undead. As Z looked around, he saw the bone soldiers cut one another down.
Z turned, and called out to his new-found friends: "There is an opening. We need to take it!"
He ran past the battles, and charged straight into the heart, towards the confused necromancer. His speed was limited, especially in this snow. "Go on ahead! I will catch up."

"Go on ahead! I will catch up." Adahn had just run into the center of the battle. Alone. And he was just as weak as she was, she knew. And he wanted her to leave him. Astounding, how immense men's idiocy is.
Seraphin ran after Adahn, not wanting her new friend to be injured, or murdered. The necromancer in the center was distraught, she could tell, but it was still madness for Adahn to have run in there alone. "Retuke better have stayed back."

These undead were really quite weak. While some of them continued to attack one another, a small party tried to attack the group of heroes.
One of the skeletons attempted to stab Z with a crude spear. The spear pierced right through Z, but he barely seemed injured.
"Pathetic..." Z quickly pulled out the spear, wrenching the skeleton's arms off of its body. In a nimble flourish, he knocked the head of the skeleton clean off, and the body fell with it.
The other skeletons tried to rush him at once. With his open hand, he forced the magic on their feet to be released with a small spell.
The undead force clumsily dropped to the ground. Z walked over, and crushed one of their heads with the heel of his shoe. He stabbed another with the wooden blade of the crude spear.
"These d***ed things are a waste of my time!"
As he continued to slay the crippled soldiers, a magic bolt hit him in the back. Next thing he knew, he was face-first in the white snow, missing a large patch of skin from his back.

The hoard of undead was thinning rappidly. Retuke was on the outskirts of the battle, and nearly all of the foes around him were either moving once again towards Z, or dead. Retuke squinted against the wind, feeling tired. What was he doing out here? He could collapse at any moment.
Something was going on, though there was a flash of light from where the thick of the fighting was taking place, and he thought he saw Adahn fall. Oh no, Retuke thought, realizing that Seraphin was over there, too. It looked like the enemy necromancer had come to show himself. Retuke began to hustle forwards, trying to think of an easy spell he could use to assist.

As Z rose from the snow, there was a sudden change about him. His face showed no emotion, almost like stone; but his hands said another thing; they appeared as claws, representing his rage.
He directed his right hand, still claw-shaped, at the nearest undead, who charged at him with an axe. From his hands came invisible magic; so powerful that it tore the skin from his hand as it left his palm. The skeleton instantly shattered as its bones flew 20 feet away from Z.
He began doing this randomly at the nearby undead, regardless if they were attacking him or not. His face never changed, but the skin on his hands continued to deteriorate down his arm.
When he finally finished his rampage, there was a 200 foot radius of shattered bones. His energy depleted, he fell to one knee and gasped for breath. He grasped his right hand with his left, possibly to keep his unenchanted bones from falling in the snow. When he checked to see there were no undead nearby, he rested his right arm on his knee, then fumbled around into his jacket and pulled out a small flask.
After a couple swigs, he rose, his arm reattached and very slowly regenerating skin.
Z realized he did not have the strength to keep fighting like this; he needed to regroup with his allies and attack as a group to reduce damage. Fighting alone, like he had been, was extremely reckless.

Retuke was hurrying towards Adahn and Seraphin when the sorcerer began to wildly use very powerful magic. Bone splinters were getting blown in all directions. Retuke dropped down into the snow to avoid getting hit. Finally, when it was over, Retuke looked up. Adahn looked worn thin, and his body was severely damaged. About ten feet away, Retuke could see Seraphin rising. She had also taken cover.
There didn't seem to be any enemies still 'alive'.
Retuke got to his feet, wiping off the frost still on his face from laying in the snow. "What are you doing, Sorcerer?! You do magic like that again and you might kill us! Be more careful!"
Seraphin held up a hand to silence Retuke. "It's alright, Retuke. We're both unscathed, and he destroyed the remaining undead. We're all weak, and if he hadn't done it, I don't know if we could've taken them all out. But," she said, turning pointedly to Z, "that was very reckless. I hope in the future you will exercise more restraint."
Retuke looked away, annoyed with Seraphin for not disliking Adahn.
((ooc/ I hope that's what Seraphin would do. ))

Z was extremely irritated through their arrogance.
"Do you think I wanted to do that?!"
He closed his eyes, and tried to calm down. Lacking energy and patience, his undead instincts wanted nothing more than to feed. Getting angry would not help anyone.
"We can talk about this later. we still have one last nuisance to take care of.."
Z looked out into the distance, and saw a faint outline of a cloak, a dark contrast against the bitter, falling white snow.
He was confused for a minute; the necromancer was young. Especially for a necromancer. But before he finished his thoughts, a giant club-like arm tried to crush the lich.
Z tried to block such a heavy blow, using magic to repel the majority of the attack. With each blow deflected, a thick, dark stream of magic danced through the air, then dissipated. The constant use of magic was wearing Z thin and his powers weak.
The owner of such an arm was an enormous, crude skeleton of, what appears to be, a troll. The arms were enormous, and the legs somewhat short. The head of the great undead was extremely small. The troll was very slow, but the power of the creature remained.
Coming up behind the necromancer in the background appeared a huge lumbering shape. Right as Z blocked the next attack, he realized that the shape was getting closer.
"D***it, two of them?!"

Retuke was about to snap back at Z, but Seraphin stopped him, seeing how Adahn was trying not to lose control. Retuke wore a frown on his face as he stared at Z. He didn't know what was going on with the lich, whether he wanted to do things or not. Wildly blowing stuff up seemed to be something a lich might want to do. He turned his back to Adahn and looked down at his boots, starting to shiver in the cold. The fight seemed to be over, but when Seraphin gasped, Retuke looked up over his shoulder. His jaw dropped as the skeletal troll dropped a clenched fist on top of Adahn.
Black magic began to seep from Adahn as he tried to defend himself. Seraphin began to cast aggressive spells at the troll, and Retuke stepped up to assist.
But the second troll was coming up, too. Retuke noticed it: "Oh, hell."
Retuke turned away from Z, Seraphin, and the first troll to engage the second. Retuke's fireball spells dealt more damage, but he decided to use ice spells instead; the landscape was covered with snow and ice, which he could use (which would save him mana).
He began to spin, moving his arms quickly in a fluid motion. As he made one full turn he thrust his hands forwards, pointed at the troll. A cloud of razor-sharp shards of ice launched forwards, shredding the troll's skeletal face. It raised an arm in annoyance, but it merely slowed.

With Retuke and Seraphin assisting him, Z lunged towards the nearest troll.
Z was accustomed to the high agility of a skilled assassin, and his foreign undead body was extremely slow. This proved to be a great problem, as his mind moved faster than his body.
Regardless, the magical energy was a great asset, and with it, Z plunged his arm into the troll.
Seraphin was right behind Z, blasting magical bolts at the troll's head. While not doing an excessive amount of damage, it did keep the troll from smashing Z.
With his arm inside of the troll, Z was unsure of what to do next. At first, he could only pause. But that soon ended, as the troll attempted to smash Z.
Z attempted to block the attack, but it was so direct and powerful, it caused him to sink into the snow. He had to think of something fast.
Come on, James. Think of something, you fool! That's when it hit him. Hellfire!
An emerald green shone through the skeleton's ribs as Z pulled back out his arm. He managed to roll away just as the troll's fist smashed the snow.
While the green light continued to grow, the troll kept trying to attack Z and Seraphin, but slowed down continually over time.
Seraphin managed to seal the creature in a simple barrier, to keep distance between the two and the troll.
The creature kept pounding at the invincible barrier, but the fire continued to eat away the bones, until it simply fell to the ground, all of the magic drained.
Z was just about to relax, until he realized that there was still that second troll.
Retuke was blasting it with frost magic, shredding away small fragments from its bones.
Seraphin quickly ran to the opposite side of the troll. The troll was extremely indecisive on which target he should attack, and just stood there, being blasted by the ice shards. He finally lunged at Retuke,
But Z dashed as fast as his sluggish body could, hoping to intercept the brute.

Behind him, Retuke and Seraphin battled the first troll. He wasn't sure what was happening, but apparently they had been able to stop it, for Seraphin moved to his aid. The troll, which was almost upon him, paused, looking from Seraphin to retuke. Finally he continued towards his first target; Retuke.
He grimaced, walking backwards, trying to keep up his attacks. The troll raised its fist in preparation to squash Retuke. Then a fireball exploded against the back of its head, and it staggered forwards. Seraphin began to cast another from behind the troll, but Retuke beat her to it. He thrust his hand forward and a lightning bolt shot forth, striking through one of the troll's eye sockets. Between both attacks, the troll's skull caved in and the bones collapsed to a pile on the ground.
